What’s it all about …

The Camden Show Society has been a part of the Camden community for 130 years making it one of the oldest Show Societies in Australia. The Land Sydney Royal Showgirl Competition and the RAS Rural Achiever Award are two competitions supported by the Camden Show Society that enable young people to compete for these highly prestigious awards.

The winners are announced at what has become one of Camden's most highly sought after social events, "The Camden Show Ball", with all entrants becoming Rural Ambassadors for Camden and Australian agriculture on the whole.
The Showgirl Competition is judged on personality, confidence, ambition, knowledge, presentation and speech. The Camden Show has selected young women every year for the past 51 years to represent the local community at zone level and if successful at state level.

Camden has an outstanding record, with a number of showgirls reaching this elite level, in fact Camden ranks 3rd in the state. In 2011, Hilary Scott won the highly coveted award, the same year Camden Show Society celebrated it's 125th Show.

The RAS Rural Achiever Award recognises the contribution many of our young people make to the agricultural industry and gives them an opportunity to grow, network and develop their leadership skills. Lyndsey Douglas, an enthusiastic supporter and announcer of the Camden Show took out the title of the 2013 NSW Rural Achiever and went on to compete at the National Rural Ambassador Awards. A very well-deserved win!

In 2016 one of our very own Tammy Biffin, a keen competitor and supporter of the Camden Show  was one of 8 finalists in the NSW Rural Achiever Awards. This is an amazing acomplishment and our congratulations go to Tammy for representing Camden in these prestigious awards.
