For 2013 we were lucky to have lyndsey Douglas represent The Camden Show Society as our Entrant for the The RAS Rural Achiever Awards. This is a state-wide program run by the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW to recognise future young leaders who are working hard to make a significant contribution to their local community and to rural Australia.

 

Lyndsey has a great connection with The Camden Show Society and has volunteered for the past eight years as announcer during showtime and has performed the same role for 5 years with Condobolin Show. Lyndsay has emceed the Camden Show Ball several times including interviewing the showgirls and providing advice for their onstage appearance and performance.

 

Lyndsey was the RAS conference delegate representing nSW in Scotland and author of a paper on Western nSW cancer care facilities that received funding from the RAS Foundation. She has been the volunteer publicity officer for many organisations including Rotary, CWA and Womens Rugby Clubs in Sydney and Condobolin.

 

Named as Condobolin’s 44th Showgirl, Zone 5 Finalist and NSW 2nd Runner up she has since judged showgirls at zone level and local competitions.

 

 

Lyndsey has just qualified as one of 10 finalists for the RAS Rural Achiever Competition at Sydney Royal in April 2013. She whent on to be named as the RAS NSW Rural Achiever Ambassador 2013.
