2017 Show Welcome
On behalf of the Camden Show Society Committee I welcome you to our 131st Annual Show. The committee has worked tirelessly over the past 12 months in preparation for the Macarthur District’s largest community event.
Camden Show Society sees its role as one of providing entertainment, education and a forum for competition to our community. I encourage all who attend our Show to visit the School’s Interactive tent and the many other exhibitions to either learn or just soak up the agricultural pursuits our district offers.
This year’s entertainment programme is jam packed with events to suit all ages and tastes. The Lumberjack Show is back and joined this year with Axe Throwing and Freestyle Motor Bikes. The Rodeo programme is packed with the toughest and meanest bulls along with the bravest cowboys we can nd. The main arena includes old favourites such as the fast and furious Brumby Run, something you’ll only see at Camden Show, along with nail biting Freestyle Motorcycle jumping. Saturday evening is once again concluded with the magni cent Hennings Fireworks spectacular produced by the world renowned reworks manufacturer Foti International.
After a successful return last year, the Sheep Show will be back again along with the Dairy and Beef Cattle, Goats, Alpacas, Sheep Dogs, Show Dogs, Poultry, Produce, a reinvigorated Show Jumping programme and the Equestrian classes. The Show Hall is a very busy place to visit with youth exhibitions and those a little older exhibiting Flowers, Quilts, Artwork and Photography. The Show Hall also displays our District Exhibit generously constructed by our volunteers.
None of these events could take place without the generous support of our Sponsors. Many of our Sponsors have had a long association with the Show while others have recently joined our Show. If you would like to join our successful sponsorship programme I would encourage you to contact the Show Of ce as soon as possible. Many thanks to those of you who support our event with your generosity.
The Camden Local Government Area has and will continue to see great change with development and population. As the district grows so does the need to build a sense of community in which the old and new can grow together. The Camden Show is proud to bring the community together and the Entertainment Stage is a prime example with the many schools and local dance groups demonstrating their skills providing a wonderful platform to perform on. The Camden Show Committee is a volunteer committee with all members bringing their different skills together to produce our wonderful event. I thank the committee for once again sacri cing their time to produce the Macarthur District’s premiere event.
The easiest way to see everything at the Show is over two days. Membership of the Camden Show Society is a convenient and economical way to enter the Show, keep up to date throughout the year by way of our member’s newsletter, receive discount entry fees and more. Beat the rush and visit the Camden Show website or visit the Show Of ce prior to organise your membership.
Please come along to the Camden Show, ‘Still a Country Show’, to be entertained and educated with our two big days of family fun.
